Birdman, Absurbman

Finally saw Birdman.  I think it's a essay on ego, either indulging it or desperately nursing it.  Maybe the title juxtaposes a small animal - bird- with a large animal - man- to illustrate the tininess of our importance.  just a tiny little peeping bird trying to be a loud presence in a noisy city, noisy world, noisy life.  and it all means the same as always, not much.

anyway, that's what i got out of it.  plus, with all those long tracking shots, it seemed like an adult Slackers.  ironic, considering it competed with Linkleter's latest, Boyhood.

or maybe it's a nod to the Birdman of Alcatraz, trapped in a prison, yet finding a sort of freedom of his own making.  meh, i don't know.

it doesn't really matter.

*flies away*
